Description
A Raleigh Amazon mountain bike featuring a steel frame with a distinctive dark green and black textured splatter paint finish. The bicycle is equipped with a 21-speed Shimano 100GS drivetrain, including front and rear derailleurs and a triple crankset. The cockpit features integrated Shimano 100GS brake levers and thumb shifters mounted to handlebars with an I-TUBE stem. The frame is fitted with cantilever brakes and 26-inch alloy rims with stainless steel spokes.
Several labels are present on the frame: a blue and white sticker on the seat tube reads DESIGNED AND BUILT BY RALEIGH NOTTINGHAM, and a green and red label lower on the same tube states Guaranteed built with RALEIGH 18-23 STEL TUBES. The bicycle is fitted with various period accessories, including black plastic front and rear mudguards, a frame-mounted PMD BIKE LOCK coil cable, a water bottle with cage, and pedals equipped with toe clips and straps. A metal bell featuring a multi-coloured graphic is mounted to the handlebars.
Condition report:
The steel frame shows general wear, light scuffing, and surface grime consistent with regular use throughout (photo 1). Minor surface rust is visible on exposed bolt heads and around the bottom bracket area (photo 3). The Shimano 100GS components show typical wear, and the rubber handlebar grips exhibit smoothing from use (photo 5). The tires appear to be inflated but show signs of age with sidewall wear (photo 6). Mechanical function has not been tested.
