Description
A collection of eighty five Agatha Christie hardcover books comprising a multi-volume set from the Agatha Christie Collection published by Planet Three. The volumes are uniformly bound in black cloth or faux-leather with gilt and coloured lettering to the spines. Each spine features a distinctive coloured horizontal band and a stylised silhouette of a bird, appearing as a crow or raven. The set includes titles such as An Autobiography (Volumes I and II), Witness for the Prosecution and Other Plays, Appointment with Death and Other Plays, Poirot’s Early Cases, While the Light Lasts, and a wide array of her classic detective fiction including The ABC Murders, Crooked House, Death on the Nile, and Dumb Witness. The books are in an octavo format. These volumes were originally released as a partwork series and do not feature dust jackets as issued.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition with significant visible shelf wear. Many volumes show heavy white spotting and residue across the spines, indicative of mold or mildew growth consistent with damp storage (photo 3). There is heavy dust accumulation on the top edges of the text blocks (photo 1). While the bindings appear generally intact, several spines exhibit surface marking and staining (photo 4). The wooden shelving shown in the images is not included in the lot.
