Description

A collection of ceramic and resin animal figurines and a large glass vessel. The group comprises multiple domestic dog breeds and feline subjects. The ceramic dogs feature glazed finishes and include a Rough Collie, an Old English Sheepdog, a tricolour Corgi, a begging sable and white Corgi, a seated Boxer, a seated Spaniel, and two Bulldog pups. The Spaniel figurine is marked to the underside with an impressed numerical mark that is not clearly legible. The tricolour Corgi bears a black printed mark to the underside reading ‘BLACK PRINCE’. The Rough Collie features an incised mark of a stylised ‘D’ inside a square and a black printed mark reading ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’. One small brown dog figurine is stamped in black with ‘ENGLAND’ and a painted artist mark ‘R 6’.

The collection also includes feline figurines, notably a large multifaceted resin cat with a mottled brown finish; it bears a white adhesive paper label on the underside reading ‘Cat Walking (Stone) B0564’, ‘Border Fine Arts Studio’, and ‘© 1999 FEGOL Ltd’. A group of three Siamese cats is present, including two rim-hangers and a small mouse. A separate climbing Siamese cat figurine is also included. The lot is accompanied by a large oversized brandy balloon style footed vessel in amber-toned glass.

Condition report:

The climbing Siamese cat figurine is missing its front right leg, leaving a visible break showing the unglazed interior (photo 15). The seated Spaniel figurine shows significant crazing to the glazed surface (photo 11). General surface wear and minor scuffing are visible on the bases of the ceramic pieces. The mottled finish on the Border Fine Arts cat shows light surface rubbing (photo 8). All other items appear to be without visible faults.
