Lot 66:
Description
A collection of polished mineral specimens fashioned primarily into hexagonal obelisk towers, alongside two freeform examples. The group comprises a variety of stones including purple amethyst, rose quartz, sodalite, howlite, and rhodonite. Notable pieces include a tall grey speckled diorite or granite style tower, a banded carnelian or agate freeform with concentric red and white rings, and a green and white moss agate style tower. Each piece is polished to a smooth finish, highlighting the natural inclusions and crystalline structures. The specimens vary in size, featuring several substantial towers alongside smaller cabinet pieces. One large white and red speckled tower bears a small rectangular white adhesive label on one face, although the text is not clearly legible.
Height of tallest specimen: 16.5 cm
Height of smallest specimen: 4.5 cm.
Condition report:
The specimens are generally in good polished condition. A small rectangular paper adhesive residue is present on the face of the large white and red speckled point (photo 1). The grey freeform specimen on the far left features a naturally rugged and unpolished base with visible vugs and internal cavities (photo 3). Minor flea-bite chips are visible on the sharp terminal points of several obelisks, consistent with handling (photo 1).
