Description

A collection of vintage metal toy soldiers and accessories, primarily manufactured by Britains. The group includes several sets in their original red window boxes. One set comprises a Royal Marine band and bugle corps, featuring figures in dark uniforms with white pith helmets and red detailing, displayed in a box printed with Metal-Models, Hand-Painted, and Britains. A smaller boxed set contains four buglers in matching uniforms, bearing a yellow adhesive price label from Lawsons for £5.65.

The collection includes a ceremonial mounted figure of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on a black horse, in a box titled The Queen Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which carries a Lawsons price label for £3.25 dated 11 88. A clear acrylic display case houses a mounted standard bearer from the W. Britain Collection, with a silver-toned base marked Manufactured in London, England. Additionally, the lot contains a boxed set of five miniature Knights in Armour, a group of six unpainted or dark-patinated figures in historical uniforms including turbans and a pickelhaube, and a black-painted metal field cannon with movable wheels.

Condition report:

The painted figures in the boxed sets appear to be in good condition with vibrant finishes and no visible paint loss (photos 2, 3, 5). The Queen box has a small tear at the top edge of the circular window (photo 5). The bugler set box shows minor edge wear and scuffing (photo 3). The Knights in Armour plastic packaging shows slight yellowing consistent with age (photo 7). The unpainted metal figures and cannon exhibit a dark, aged patina (photo 6). All boxed sets appear complete based on the internal tray moldings.
