Description
This lot comprises two 1:12 scale die-cast model cars by Sun Star, representing iconic British vehicles from the 1960s. The first model is a 1960 Morris Mini Traveller, finished in blue paintwork with wood-effect external framing and a two-tone blue and grey interior. The second model is a 1965 Morris Minor 1000 Saloon, finished in black with a red interior and white-walled tyres. Both models feature opening doors, bonnets, and engine compartments. The Mini Traveller includes an illustrated white box, an instruction manual, and a Limited Edition Certificate reading 1960 MORRIS MINI TRAVELLER, Model Ref No: 5311, stating it is part of a limited edition of 999 worldwide. The Morris Minor 1000 Saloon is accompanied by its original orange illustrated Sun Star box. The registration plates on the vehicles read XSL 565 and SWL 786A respectively.
Condition report:
The 1960 Morris Mini Traveller appears in generally good condition, although a small circular blemish is visible on the roof (photo 2). The 1965 Morris Minor 1000 Saloon shows significant condition issues, with several detached chrome-effect trim pieces, a loose green plastic component, and the front bumper assembly with registration plate SWL 786A lying loose (photo 3). There are also visible losses to the rear trim pieces around the windows and light clusters (photo 3). Both boxes show minor wear consistent with storage.
