Description
A trio of wall mirrors comprising three distinct styles. The first is a mid-century modern style rectangular mirror set within a teak or similar hardwood frame, featuring a simple rounded profile and mitered corners. The second is an Art Deco style mirror with a rectangular frame, characterised by stepped skyscraper corners and decorative alternating gilt and silvered ridged bands. The third is a rectangular mirror in an ornate molded gilt frame, decorated with a repeating foliate or bead and reel pattern along the inner and outer borders. All three mirrors are designed for wall hanging. This lot comprises the three mirrors only; the shelving, books, and other decorative items shown in the reflections are not included.
Length: 36 inches (approx. 91.5 cm) measured along the teak frame.
Width: 32 inches (approx. 81 cm) measured across the Art Deco style frame.
Length: 38.5 inches (approx. 98 cm) measured along the ornate gilt frame.
Condition report:
The mirrors appear to be in good overall condition. The wooden and gilt frames show minor surface wear, dust, and light scratches consistent with age and storage (photo 1). The mirror plates are generally clear with no significant silvering loss or foxing visible; however, there is some light surface smudging and clouding to the glass that would benefit from cleaning (photo 4). No chips or cracks to the glass are evident in the photographs.
