Description
A collection of vintage and modern stationery and desk accessories, primarily of British origin. The group features a vintage black desk set base with a central brass-toned perpetual calendar, displaying ‘SATURDAY 21 JANUARY’. It includes two heavy-duty black tape dispensers, a blue metal two-hole punch marked ‘RAPESCO’, a boxed ‘HAND/DESK TALLY COUNTER’, and two metal staplers. Marking tools comprise an assortment of highlighters including ‘STABILO BOSS’ and ‘STABILOplan’ examples, and a retail pack of ‘STAEDTLER STICK 430 M’ ballpoint pens.
The lot also contains a ‘Stephens’ endorsing ink pad in a blue and black tin, marked ‘STEPHENS ENDORSING INK PAD No 294 FOR RUBBER STAMPS’, alongside several glass ink bottles. Paper goods include a large quantity of unused envelopes, ‘WHSmith’ fluorescent labels, and a notebook marked ‘E R SUPPLIED FOR THE PUBLIC SERVICE S.O. BOOK 131’. Further accessories include two magnifying glasses, one with a bamboo style handle, several pairs of steel scissors, ‘PLATIGNUM 3 EUROPEAN SIZE BALLPOINT REFILLS’ in original packaging, and boxed ‘TREASURY TAGS’.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition. Brassing and surface oxidation are visible on the perpetual calendar and the Stephens ink tin (photo 3). The tape dispensers and hole punch show light surface scuffing and paint wear to the edges (photo 1). Paper packaging for the refills, tags, and labels shows age-related yellowing, edge wear, and some creasing (photo 1 and 3). The various pairs of steel scissors show surface marks and oxidation consistent with age (photo 3).
