Description
A collection of sea and coarse fishing tackle comprising several rods, reels, and a seat box with various terminal tackle. The lot includes a Shakespeare seat box constructed from blue plastic with a black padded seat cushion, bearing a label reading “Shakespeare SINCE 1897”. It is fitted with an adjustable octoplus style leg system featuring four red mud feet. Rods include a Rovex Tide Line 12′ Surf three-piece surf casting rod marked “Cast WT: 4-6oz”, a vintage Gladding Sealey Sea Rod with cork handle and blue blank marked “Made in England”, and a D.A.M. Minor Match multi-piece rod in a dark maroon finish.
The reels include a Penn No. 77 sea reel, a vintage chrome-plated multiplier style, and a Jarvis Walker spinning reel spooled with green line. An additional unbranded silver and green rod is marked “Art. No. 1456 285” with a length of 2.85m. Terminal tackle includes an assortment of floats, weights, and hooks in original packaging including examples by Drennan, Mustad, and Kamasan. One black plastic hard-shell carry case and two clear plastic tackle boxes are included.
Condition report:
The equipment shows signs of moderate to heavy use consistent with field use. Significant green oxidation and surface rust are visible on the metal components of the Jarvis Walker reel (photo 13) and the Penn multiplier reel (photo 10). The Shakespeare seat box shows scuffing and dirt to the exterior (photo 2). Several rod sections are held together with green masking tape (photo 1, 9, 12). Rod grips show typical wear and some foam padding on rigs is perishing (photo 7). Completeness of all rod sets is not guaranteed as several loose sections are present.
