Description

A early twentieth century oak cased wall clock featuring a mechanical striking movement. The case is constructed from dark-stained wood, possibly oak or beech, with a pediment topped by a carved shell and foliate style cresting. The front door is fitted with a circular glazed window for the dial and a lower rectangular section divided into three vertical glazed panes. The circular silvered metal dial is set with black Arabic numerals and blackened steel hands, including a spade-shaped hour hand. Two winding arbors are positioned on the dial, indicating a striking mechanism, and a circular metal pendulum is visible through the lower glass. No maker marks or signatures are legible on the dial or movement. The lot comprises the clock only; the various ceramic items, games, and other stock shown in the background are not included.

Condition report:

The wooden case shows surface wear, scuffing, and minor scratches consistent with age, particularly to the edges and base (photo 1). The silvered dial exhibits some oxidisation and tarnishing, primarily around the numerals and winding holes (photo 4). The internal movement appears dusty (photo 3). The clock is untested for working order and the winding key is not present in the images. The glass panels appear intact with no visible chips or cracks.
