Description

A collection of assorted glassware and nautical themed decorative items. The group includes two ships-in-bottles: one large horizontal clear glass bottle on a dark wooden plinth containing a model of a sailing vessel with a printed internal paper label reading ‘Charles W. Morgan 1841’; the other is a glass decanter style vessel containing a pink-sailed glass ship, mounted to a circular wooden base with a brass-coloured plate reading ‘Santa Maria 1492’. The lot features a large pale green glass carboy or demijohn with a visible vertical seam line and a reinforced rim.

The glassware includes assorted cut glass drinking vessels such as dessert coupes, tumblers with diamond-cut patterns, and shot glasses, one of which is decorated with a transfer scene and the date ‘1888’. Also present are two shell-shaped pressed glass dishes, a clear glass decanter with a faceted stopper, and a glass dome containing a stylised angel figure. Smaller decorative objects comprise three ceramic bottle stoppers with horse and bird motifs, two green glass bell-shaped scent bottles with romantic transfer scenes, and two small boxed figures in packaging marked ‘TopGear’.

Condition report:

The glassware generally appears in good order, though surface dirt and dust are visible across all items (photo 1). The large carboy shows internal residue and clouding (photo 5). The \'Charles W. Morgan\' model is intact within its bottle, though the wooden plinth shows minor surface scuffs (photo 2). The green glass bells show slight wear to the gilt transfer decorations (photo 4). No significant chips or cracks are immediately visible to the cut glass vessels from the photographs provided.
