Description

A Victorian style circular garden table constructed from cast metal, possibly aluminum or iron. The tabletop features a complex openwork foliate and scrollwork pattern, arranged symmetrically around a central circular aperture for a parasol. The outer border is decorated with a radiating slotted design. The piece is supported on a pedestal base with three scrolled legs, each embellished with cast leaf and vine motifs, joined by a circular lower stretcher. A small pink adhesive label is applied to the centre of the tabletop, but no maker’s marks, signatures, or country of origin stamps are legible on the surfaces of the table.

Condition report:

The table exhibits extensive weathering and oxidation across all surfaces consistent with outdoor use. There is significant loss to the green verdigris finish and underlying white primer, particularly around the tabletop rim (photo 1) and on the pedestal legs (photo 3). The metal surface shows pitting and a buildup of environmental dirt and lichen-like residue (photo 2). Structural casting appears intact with no visible breaks to the ornate openwork.
