Description

This lot comprises two vintage men’s wristwatches including a Seiko Sea Lion M55 automatic and a Rotary dress watch. The Seiko Sea Lion features a gold-plated case with a stainless steel screw-down case back. The silver-tone sunburst dial is marked SEIKO at the 9 o’clock position, with a day-date aperture at 3 o’clock and the text DIASHOCK 26 JEWELS at the 6 o’clock position. The case back is stamped with the serial number 6602778 and the reference 6206-9000, and features a central engraved image of a sea lion. It is fitted with a gold-tone expandable metal bracelet, the interior links of which are marked SPEIDEL USA.

The second item is a Rotary dress watch featuring a gold-plated case and a stainless steel case back with six notches for a removal tool. The silver-tone textured linen dial bears the ROTARY name and winged logo below the 12 o’clock position, and is marked Incabloc at 6 o’clock. The watch is fitted with a black leather rally-style strap featuring circular perforations.

Condition report:

Both watches show significant signs of wear and age. The Seiko Sea Lion has heavy damage to the acrylic crystal, with multiple cracks and chips visible at the 9 and 10 o\'clock positions (photo 4 and 6). There is noticeable wear to the gold plating on both the case and the Speidel bracelet (photo 1). The Rotary watch shows plating wear particularly on the lugs (photo 2), and the leather strap is heavily distressed with visible cracking (photo 3). The working status of neither movement has been tested.
