Description
A collection of vintage collectibles and souvenirs including decorative objects, games, and household utility items. The group includes two ceramic tiles depicting a map of Malta and the town of Lagos, Algarve, alongside an assortment of advertising tins with printed labels for Meggezones, Sun Valley Light Tobacco, Player’s Sun Valley, Marcovitch Red & White, and State Express 555. Games are represented by a Mah Jong set with a printed booklet titled Standard Rules for the Chinese Domino Game of Mah Jong and a box for Classic Rummy. Decorative pieces include a set of Russian matryoshka dolls, brass shoe ornaments, a silver-tone dolphin figurine, a painted wooden clog, and a carved wooden house. Utility items comprise three hip flasks, a large pair of tailor’s shears, a Texas Instruments TI-508 PLUS calculator, and various corkscrews including a Corkette cork extractor and an example marked Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. The lot also features a wooden cribbage board and wooden coasters in a tiered holder. A printed label on one tin reads Made in England.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age-related wear throughout. Surface tarnish and oxidation are visible on the metal hip flasks, dolphin figurine, and tailor\'s shears (photo 1). The vintage advertising tins exhibit scuffing, minor dents, and paint loss to the edges (photo 3). The Mah Jong rules booklet shows yellowing and creasing to the paper cover (photo 4). The painted wooden clog has small chips to the paintwork at the toe (photo 3). Some ceramic tiles show minor surface scratches, but no significant cracks are visible in the primary images. The card game boxes show shelf wear and corner softening (photo 4).
