Description
A collection of vintage costume jewellery and decorative objects, including a Japanese style lacquer jewellery box. The black lacquer box features a traditional scene with a pagoda, Mount Fuji, and water, with a reverse-painted landscape visible on the interior lid mirror. The assortment of jewellery includes multiple necklaces such as a triple-strand faux pearl necklace, an amethyst-coloured glass bead necklace with black clusters, and various gold-tone and silver-tone chains. Brooches and clips feature a large blue glass cabochon in a gold-tone filigree setting, floral enamel designs, and a clear rhinestone star. The lot also includes several pairs of earrings, some on original cards reading LATEST FASHION, and a multi-strand seed bead bracelet. One small presentation box is marked ROBINS & MOORE. A small plastic bag is present containing a nose ring.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of wear and age consistent with vintage costume jewellery. Tarnishing and plating loss are visible on several gold-tone metal chains and the floral link bracelet (photo 1). The faux pearls exhibit minor surface wear to the nacre. The lacquer jewellery box has surface dust and minor scuffing to the exterior (photo 3). Some smaller rhinestones may be absent from the larger pavé-set brooches upon close inspection, though no major stones appear missing.
