Lot 367:
Sold for: £85
Description
A set of four Beswick ceramic wall plaques modelled as male ring-necked pheasants in flight. The set comprises four graduated sizes, each featuring a cock pheasant in a dynamic flying pose. The birds are constructed from slip-cast ceramic with a high-gloss glaze finish. The hand-painted decoration includes characteristic iridescent green necks, white neck rings, and mottled ochre and brown plumage. The reverse of each plaque is hollow with integral mounting holes for wall display.
Condition report:
The set appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural repairs to the beaks or delicate tail feathers (photo 1). Light surface crazing is visible within the glaze consistent with the material and age. A pink inventory sticker is adhered to the wing of the largest bird (photo 1).
