Description
A collection of costume and fashion jewellery in various styles, materials, and designs. The assortment comprises numerous pairs of earrings, brooches, necklaces, and cufflink sets. Featured items include silver-toned filigree drop earrings, turquoise style stone cabochon brooches in scrolled metal settings, and several pieces of Native American style jewellery with feather motifs and turquoise style beads. The collection includes items in original retailer packaging: a blue box with an interior printed “ZALES JEWELLERS”, a velvet-lined case with an interior lid marked “ZALES”, and two clear plastic cases printed with “Coronet Jewellers, The Market, Plymouth, Devon, Tel: 266 936”. Also present is a red fabric drawstring pouch containing a multi-strand beaded necklace and a pair of silver-toned filigree earrings on a card printed “CLIP EARRING”. The group features a variety of faux pearls, rhinestones, and blue glass or resin beads set in white and yellow metal mounts.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. Faux pearl coatings show surface wear and peeling on several pieces, particularly visible on the large pearl style earrings (photo 7). Tarnish is present on multiple white metal settings, most notably on the filigree and mesh earrings (photo 2). Some loose components are visible within the presentation boxes (photo 1). The retailer boxes show shelf wear, staining, and age-related discolouration to the interior linings (photo 3).
