Description
This lot comprises a set of three nesting side tables manufactured by Legate. The tables feature a graduated design influenced by mid-century modern aesthetics, constructed with hardwood frames finished in a honey-toned teak style stain. The rectangular tops are finished in teak veneers with decorative cross-banded borders; the largest table additionally features a light wood inlay stringing. Each table is supported by tapered legs with rounded shoulders and low-profile H-stretchers, assembled using pocket-hole screws. The underside of the smallest table carries multiple manufacturer markings: a green and silver rectangular foil label reading LEGATE with a bird logo; a white paper quality control label headed LEGATE with hand-marked inspection categories; and a rectangular ink stamp reading INSPECTED BY MAR 1999.
Condition report:
The tables are in good used condition with a consistent finish across all three pieces. There are minor surface scuffs and light scratches to the veneered tops consistent with age and domestic use (photo 2 and 3). The structural integrity is sound with no visible damage to the stretchers or joints. The manufacturer\'s labels and stamps on the underside are intact and legible (photo 5).
