Description
A collection of rings in various vintage and antique styles, largely constructed from silver-coloured metal. One heart-shaped display pad carries a central white label reading ‘Sterling Silver’ in black cursive script. The group includes several signet style rings with hand-engraved starburst and floral motifs on circular or oval faces. Further examples feature stone settings including possibly Garnet, Turquoise style cabochons and inlays, Coral style cabochons, and cultured pearls. Notable pieces include a central ring on the second pad set with a yellow stone, possibly Citrine or Topaz, flanked by two dark red stones, and an individual cased ring featuring a True Lover’s Knot double-rope design. The lot is presented on two heart-shaped pads and one small black individual presentation case with a cream-coloured lining and a gilt label on the interior lid reading ‘134 Cornwall St Plymouth’.
Condition report:
The items are in vintage used condition with visible surface tarnish and patina throughout the metal bands (photos 2 and 3). Several rings show distorted bands from age and wear (photo 2). The heart-shaped display pads show significant wear, surface staining, and frayed edges (photo 1). The individual presentation case shows heavy interior foxing and staining to the silk lining and wear to the leatherette exterior (photo 4).
