Description

A large collection of costume jewellery comprising a diverse range of necklaces and bangles in various styles and materials. The assortment features multiple strands of multi-coloured beaded necklaces in red, turquoise, pink, and yellow, likely constructed from early-to-mid 20th-century plastics such as Lucite or acrylic. Included are several strands of graduated faux pearl necklaces in cream and champagne tones, alongside glass bead examples. The lot contains a group of bangles, including a cream-coloured plain resin bangle, a translucent purple bangle, a faceted black bangle, and a dark brown wood or early plastic style bangle. A notable piece is a green and gold-tone enamelled metal bangle featuring a floral geometric pattern. The collection also includes a gold-tone metal keychain set with a yellow-orange cabochon and a small novelty plastic Santa Claus figure. Several items carry handwritten adhesive price or inventory labels, including a tag on a turquoise necklace reading CAF / 556 £1.50 2380 and another on a yellow bangle reading GJ / BN20 £2.25 5040. Two plastic bags containing assorted black buttons and multi-coloured beads are also present.

Condition report:

The collection is presented in a mixed and unorganised state with visible surface wear across various pieces. The plastic and resin bangles show light surface scratches and scuffing consistent with age and use (photo 1). The enamelled green bangle exhibits visible loss of finish and wear to the interior and outer edges (photo 3). Metal components on the necklaces and findings show signs of tarnishing and oxidation (photo 2). Several bead strands are tangled, and the condition of the stringing has not been individually tested. The novelty figure and buttons are contained in clear plastic bags which appear to be in good order.
