Lot 139:
Sold for: £18
Description
A collection of vintage style decorative wall plaques constructed from printed tin. This lot comprises several signs featuring diverse subject matter and graphic designs. The assortment includes a rectangular blue plaque titled Fresh Seafood Market, decorated with a red crab motif and text reading Oysters Mussels Cockles; a long teal plaque marked WASHROOM; and a maroon coloured plaque titled KNOW YOUR COFFEE which provides a chart of coffee preparations including Espresso, Latte Macchiato, and Cappuccino. The group is further enhanced by a small cream and black sign reading Our Delicious COFFEE HITS THE SPOT, a humorous square plaque with a Victorian style illustration and the text Hand over the CHOCOLATE and nobody gets hurt!, a scenic Torquay postcard style plaque, and a narrow blue sign marked CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS featuring an anchor motif. Each piece is designed with faux-distressing, simulated rusting, and scuffed edges to create an aged appearance. No manufacturer marks are visible on the surfaces. This lot comprises the plaques only; the wooden shelving shown in the images is not included.
Condition report:
The plaques are in generally good condition. The edges and surfaces show printed faux-distressing and intentional wear to simulate age, alongside some light incidental scuffs consistent with handling.
