Description
A collection of bamboo and woven rattan items, including a two-tier shelving unit. The shelving unit is constructed with a bamboo frame and supports two rectangular woven rattan surfaces. The lot also includes several baskets of varying forms, colours, and materials. Notable pieces include a square lidded container made of tightly woven seagrass style fibre and a small rectangular tray-style basket. The group further comprises multiple handled baskets for gathering or shopping, crafted from materials such as light natural willow and dark brown twisted seagrass style cord. One light-coloured oval basket features a decorative floral motif in green and orange tones. No manufacturer marks, labels, or signatures are visible on any of the items. This lot comprises the shelving and baskets only; any background items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The collection shows natural wear consistent with age and use. The bamboo shelving unit appears structurally sound with minor surface scuffs. Some loose fibres and fraying are visible on the woven baskets, particularly on the darker seagrass style bag which shows slight deformation to the handles (photo 1). The square lidded box shows minor compression to the lid corners (photo 1). The floral decoration on the oval basket appears slightly faded (photo 2).
