Description

A pair of Mark Scheffel Porro prism binoculars featuring a high 20x magnification and 50mm objective lenses. The body is constructed from metal with a black textured vulcanite or faux-leather grip and black-finished metal components. The left prism cover is marked with the printed white text 20 X 50, Field 3°, and No. 5314. The right prism cover bears a stylized shield logo containing the name MARK above SCHEFFEL, with the words COATED OPTICS printed below. A small circular red and white adhesive label on the central hinge reads PASSED. The instrument features a central focusing wheel and a right-eye diopter adjustment. This lot includes a black hard-shell carrying case with a textured exterior, a metal clasp, a black synthetic shoulder strap, and two plastic lens caps.

Condition report:

The exterior shows light wear to the metal edges and textured grip consistent with age (photo 1). The optics appear clear without major surface scratches, although one objective lens cap is missing in the photographs (photo 1). The carrying case exhibits minor scuffing to the exterior and wear to the strap (photo 1). One eyepiece is shown with a protective cap while the other is exposed (photo 4). Mechanical smoothness of the focusing mechanism was not tested.
