Description

A collection of vintage and contemporary wristwatches and a single pocket watch including examples by Avia, Pulsar, Smiths, and Lorus. The group features several gold-tone metal wristwatches with quartz movements, including a boxed Avia with an integrated link bracelet and a Pulsar wristwatch with a champagne dial and baton markers. A Smiths Astralon model is included, featuring a silvered dial with baton markers and a date aperture at 6 o’clock. Also present is a Sekonda quartz watch on a Speidel style expanding mesh bracelet and a Lorus watch with a rectangular gold-tone case on a lizard-grain leather strap. The lot includes a miniature Le Cheminant hunter-style pocket watch, the gold-tone case featuring a red and white cameo depiction of a female profile; the white dial is marked Le Cheminant 1822 Swiss Made with Arabic numerals and Breguet style hands. Several ladies’ dress watches including a Seiko example and four loose leather and mock-croc straps accompany the lot. The collection is presented with three empty or partially used watch cases, including one marked Pulsar Quartz, one marked Avia, and a blue Lorus Quartz box.

Condition report:

The collection shows various degrees of wear across the pieces. The Sekonda watch crystal has heavy surface scratching (photo 4). The Pulsar watch case shows visible wear to the gold plating (photo 3). The Smiths Astralon watch is missing its strap (photo 2). Several leather straps show creasing and surface wear consistent with use (photo 1). The Avia presentation case shows some external scuffing (photo 1). All watches are untested for timekeeping and working order; battery-operated movements likely require replacements.
