Description

This lot comprises two sets of three Jacobean style oak nested tables. Each set consists of three rectangular tables of graduated sizes designed to stack together. The tables are constructed from solid oak with visible grain patterns; the set with the lighter finish features pronounced medullary rays to the tops. Both sets are supported by turned baluster legs joined by H-frame stretchers. One set features shaped and carved aprons to the front and rear of the frames, while the second set has plain, straight aprons. The finishes differ between the two sets, with one presented in a dark brown uniform stain and the other in a lighter golden oak tone. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the frames or undersides of the tables.

Condition report:

The dark-stained set shows light surface scratches and minor finish wear to the top of the largest table (photo 1). The golden oak set shows significant finish degradation to the top of the largest table, including areas of clouding, water staining, and varnish loss (photo 2). Both sets exhibit typical scuffs and wear to the feet and stretchers consistent with use (photo 1 and 2).
