Description
A collection of vintage and modern hand and power tools housed in various storage containers. The assortment includes several hand saws with wooden handles, with one handle inscribed S & J, and a boxed Black & Decker D7878 Portable Saw Attachment. Power tools comprise a Black & Decker electric jigsaw with a 3-pin UK plug. Edge tools include a set of wooden-handled chisels, one featuring a decal reading MARPLES with a trefoil logo and another with a circular green and gold decal. Clamping and boring equipment includes two blue-painted G-clamps embossed RECORD, a vintage hand-powered breast drill with a red gear housing, and several drill bits including carded Masonry Drill Bit and Rawldrill outfits.
The lot features three primary storage units: a blue plastic cantilever toolbox, a blue metal cantilever toolbox, and a large vintage wooden tool chest with a blue-painted interior. Also included is a grey metal-cased HEAYBERD battery charger with an analog meter, a vintage tobacco tin marked Ogden’s ST. BRUNO ROUGH CUT, and various packs of sandpaper and wall plugs by Texas, Black & Decker, and Homebase.
Condition report:
The collection is in used, as-found condition with significant signs of age and utility. Many metal components, including the G-clamps and saw blades, show surface oxidation and rust (photo 1). Wooden handles exhibit staining, scuffing, and wear to original decals (photo 4). The power tool cables appear intact, but the jigsaw and battery charger have not been tested for working order. The wooden chest and metal toolboxes show paint loss, scratches, and minor corrosion consistent with heavy workshop use (photos 6 and 7).
