Description

A wall clock with a pendulum, featuring a mahogany-style finished wooden case. The case is constructed with a swan-neck pediment topped by a central turned wooden finial and flanked by two carved floral rosettes. The sides of the cabinet are decorated with vertical fluted pilasters. The white circular dial is set within a brass-toned bezel and features black Roman numeral hour markers and a railroad-style minute track. The dial is marked in a cursive script with a name, appearing to read Comet, followed by the text QUARTZ WESTMINSTER. The hands are black, decorative spade style. A brass-toned gridiron-style pendulum is visible through the lower glass pane; the pendulum bob features a white enamel-style disc decorated with a crossed-arrow motif and the letters R and A. This lot comprises the clock only; the books and other interior items shown in the images are not included.

Condition report:

A noticeable scuff and loss of finish is visible on the right-hand scroll of the swan-neck pediment near the rosette (photo 1). There is a small white mark or scratch on the right-side fluted pillar (photo 3). Surface dust is visible, particularly on the top surfaces and the finial (photo 1). The movement is battery operated and currently untested for timekeeping or chime functionality.
