Description

A collection of assorted silver-plated and stainless steel hollowware and serving vessels in various styles. The group includes a Victorian style pewter or Britannia metal teapot of octagonal baluster form, featuring embossed foliate and floral decoration, a fruit-form finial, and four scrolled feet. Modernist utility wares include a stainless steel teapot with a circular body, three graduated stainless steel hot water jugs with black plastic handles, and two small creamers. Serving items feature silver-plated sauce boats with C-scroll handles, a brushed stainless steel sauce boat with an integrated underplate, and a large rectangular silver-plated gallery tray with scrolled handles and an engraved foliate surface. The collection further comprises various silver-plated baskets with swing handles, a flower frog with a removable wire mesh grid, and several stainless steel divided serving trays and platters. Marks are present on the undersides of the sauce boats and the base of the pewter teapot, but the characters are not clearly legible as specific maker names.

Condition report:

The collection shows general surface scratching, water spotting, and minor scuffs consistent with age and regular use (photo 1). Significant tarnish and oxidation are visible on the silver-plated baskets and the pewter teapot (photos 1 and 3). Small dents are present on the body of the pewter teapot (photo 3). Polishing residue is visible within the crevices of the large engraved gallery tray (photo 2).
