Description
This lot comprises a group of audio equipment, including two pairs of vintage bookshelf speakers and a boxed home theatre system. The first pair consists of Wharfedale Chevin XP2 speakers, constructed with wood veneer cabinets and black fabric grilles. The rear panels are finished in black paint and bear adhesive labels reading W WHARFEDALE, CHEVIN XP2, NOMINAL IMPEDANCE 6 OHMS, FREQUENCY RESPONSE 75Hz – 20kHz, POWER HANDLING 20 WATTS, SENSITIVITY 89dB FOR 1 WATT AT 1 METRE, and MADE IN ENGLAND BY RANK RADIO INTERNATIONAL LTD IDLE, BRADFORD, WEST YORKSHIRE. They also feature circular yellow paper labels numbered 053583.
The second pair of speakers are Rank Radio International model YX9029, featuring wood veneer cabinets and patterned fabric grilles. The rear labels are printed RANK RADIO INTERNATIONAL, MODEL NO. YX9029, and IMPEDANCE 4 OHMS.
Completing the lot is a Yamaha TSS-1 Home Theatre Sound System in its original retail packaging. The system is constructed from off-white plastic and includes a central processor unit, five satellite speakers, and an active subwoofer. The subwoofer is marked Active Servo Technology and YAMAHA. The set is accompanied by various proprietary cables and a UK 3-pin power adapter.
Condition report:
The Wharfedale speakers show light surface wear to the wood cabinets (photo 1). The Rank Radio International speakers exhibit significant damage, with the grilles heavily stained and partially detached (photo 1). One speaker in this pair is missing its lower driver unit (photo 1). The Yamaha system components show yellowing of the plastic casing consistent with age (photo 7). The original cardboard box for the Yamaha system is heavily worn, with significant tearing and structural damage (photo 1). All items are sold as untested.
