Lot 139:
Description
A collection of decorative glass and cut crystal tableware comprising assorted functional and ornamental pieces. The group includes a set of twelve goblets featuring a diamond and fan cut pattern, six clear tumblers etched with a fern leaf motif, and four varied coupe-style glasses. A tall German lead crystal trumpet-shaped vase features sharp geometric cutting and bears a gold-toned scalloped adhesive label to the base reading EXQUISIT BLEIKRISTALL and HANDGESCHLIFFEN, with a central script letter W below a crown and shield device.
The assortment also includes a large circular cut crystal bowl with a starburst and pinwheel motif, a red glass brandy-balloon shaped vessel, and a white milk glass vase decorated with polychrome floral sprays and a gilt rim. A cut glass preserve pot features a silver-plated hinged lid. Two small green-stemmed glasses are finished with white enamel floral decoration and gilt bands. The lot is completed by four cut glass open salt cellars with star patterns, a clear glass pitcher, and a small footed glass jug.
Condition report:
The items appear generally in good condition. The silver-plated lid on the preserve pot shows heavy tarnish and surface oxidation (photo 4). Minor gilt loss is visible on the rims of the green-stemmed glasses and the white floral vase (photo 1). Some clear tumblers and the larger pitcher show slight surface cloudiness (photo 1). No major chips or cracks are visible in the photographs, though the serrated edges of the large bowl (photo 6) and the tall vase should be checked for micro-nibbles.
