Description
A mixed lot of decorative and vintage items. The group features a large red-lacquered wooden chest with a domed lid, decorated with embossed metal panels depicting sailing ships on the lid and front face. The interior is lined with a burgundy-flocked material. Also included is a ceramic lamp base modelled as a vase with relief-moulded calla lily motifs in orange and green tones. An assortment of wooden walking sticks and canes is present, including a tiger-striped bamboo style example and one with a handle carved in the form of an animal head. The lot is completed by a vintage wooden tennis racket with blue accents and a plastic multi-compartment organiser box. The lamp base is without electrical fittings. A pink adhesive label on the chest lid reads S1372P.
Condition report:
The red lacquer on the chest shows minor scuffs and surface wear (photo 1). The embossed metal ship panels exhibit surface tarnishing and wear consistent with age (photo 2). The wooden tennis racket displays peeling paint and is taped around the throat (photo 1). The walking sticks show general wear to the handles and shafts (photo 4). The ceramic lamp base has no visible chips or cracks but is missing its light fitting and shade (photo 1).
