Description
A retro style upholstered storage ottoman featuring a rectangular form and a monochrome aesthetic. The chest is constructed with a wooden frame fully upholstered in black and white faux-leather vinyl. The hinged lid is decorated with a checkered pattern of ten squares arranged in two rows of five, while the main body of the chest is finished in solid black vinyl. The interior is lined throughout with a dark grey charcoal-toned fabric. The lid is secured with two brass-toned metal hinges at the rear and includes a single metal stay arm on the right-hand side to support the lid when open. No manufacturer labels, maker’s marks, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
Condition report:
The ottoman is in good functional condition but shows visible signs of surface wear and soiling. The white upholstery squares on the lid exhibit greyish marks and surface soiling, particularly noticeable on the square at the far right edge (photo 1). The black vinyl on the main body shows minor scuffs and faint scratches consistent with use (photo 3). The interior fabric lining is intact although it appears slightly creased and loose at the base (photo 2). The hinges and metal stay arm are present and appear functional.
