Description

A collection of costume jewellery rings in various styles, materials, and designs, accompanied by a single circular pendant. The assortment includes white metal, yellow metal, and bronze-toned pieces, some of which are set with faceted synthetic stones in shades of purple, green, and ruby red. Notable items within the group include a large silver-toned cluster ring set with iridescent rhinestones, a ring featuring a stylized rabbit, and a broad band with an embossed floral pattern. The collection also features pieces with symbolic motifs, including a large white metal ring and a separate bronze-toned pendant, both displaying a Star of David. Branding is visible on several presentation items: one ring is contained within a black and blue cardboard box printed with white characters reading AVON; another is housed in a blue velvet-lined box with the name Elizabeth Duke printed in black on the interior lid. A further black presentation box displays a stylized gold script mark on the interior lid, though the characters are not clearly legible. One ring bears a handwritten paper tag that includes the word SILVER and a price of 12.50.

Condition report:

The items exhibit varying degrees of surface wear and oxidation consistent with age and use. Significant patination and loss to the plating are visible on the bronze-toned bands and the ring in the Avon box (photo 7). Several white metal pieces show surface dulling and minor scratches. The faceted synthetic stones appear largely intact, though minor surface abrasions are visible on the larger stones under close inspection (photo 6). The presentation boxes show signs of handling, with the Avon cardboard box exhibiting creasing and edge wear (photo 7).
