Description

A collection of dress and cocktail rings in various styles and materials. The lot features a heavy yellow metal signet style ring set with a square cut black stone, possibly onyx, housed in a navy blue presentation case. The interior lid of this case is printed in gold lettering with Plymouth Bowden and Sons. The group includes a yellow metal eternity style ring set with five marquise cut green stones, possibly emeralds or green glass, separated by small round colorless accents, in a green case. Also present are several large cocktail rings including a trillion cut clear stone ring, an oval cabochon dark blue stone ring, a faceted orange stone ring, and a long oval dark red or brown cabochon ring. Decorative designs in the assortment feature a floral daisy motif ring with white petal shaped stones, a multi band ring with brown stones, and a dome shaped ring pave set with pink or red stones. The pieces are constructed from yellow and white metals, some possibly gold plated, and feature prong, bezel, and pave settings.

Condition report:

The rings appear to be in good used condition with all stones intact. There is visible staining, yellowing, and foxing to the silk and velvet linings of the vintage presentation boxes, notably the Plymouth retailer\'s box (photo 5). Minor surface dust and light wear to the metal finishes are visible across the collection (photo 1). The white foam padding in several cases shows slight yellowing consistent with age (photo 4).
