Description
This lot comprises two items including a contemporary slatted bamboo bench and an ornate gilt style wall mirror. The bench features a rectangular, slightly curved slatted top and a lower storage shelf, supported by four square-tapered legs. The front apron is marked with a printed brand name reading TOILETTREE PRODUCTS below a stylised tree graphic. The wall mirror features a rectangular beveled glass plate housed within a highly decorative openwork frame, featuring scrolled acanthus leaves and floral motifs in a gilt-effect finish. The reverse of the mirror is finished with a paper-backed panel secured by metal clips and includes a cord hanger attached to two brass brackets.
Condition report:
The bamboo bench shows minor surface wear consistent with light use (photo 2). The mirror glass appears intact but exhibits surface dust and smudging (photo 3). The gilt style frame shows small areas of chipping and minor loss to the finish, primarily located along the edges and more prominent decorative protrusions (photo 4). The reverse paper backing shows a small puncture and some general age-related discolouration (photo 4).
