Description
A large contemporary decorative print by Ruth Parker, depicting a whimsical Cornish style coastal village scene. The illustration features a row of white-washed cottages and a central building with signage reading THE ANCHOR INN above an anchor motif. Two fishing boats are moored in the foreground harbour, and several black cats are situated amongst the stone quayside and steps. The work is executed in a cool blue, white, and grey palette. It is signed Ruth Parker in the lower right corner. The print is housed behind glass in a square grey wood-effect frame with a wide white mat. A white adhesive label on the brown fiberboard backing carries a warning header and states Produced in the UK for Design 29 Ltd. The verso is fitted with a central metal sawtooth hanger.
Condition report:
The print and mat appear to be in good condition behind the glass. There is visible surface dust and dirt on the glass and frame (photo 1). The grey frame shows minor scuffing and finish wear to the corners (photo 2). The backing board exhibits several surface scratches and light wear consistent with handling (photo 4).
