Lot 364:
Sold for: £10
Description
A collection of eleven vintage Smurf figurines constructed from moulded PVC. The group includes various character designs such as Smurfette on roller skates, a King Smurf with a gold-toned crown and robe, and a Super Smurf wearing a red cape. The figures are rendered in a classic palette of blue, white, and yellow with hand-painted details. Several figures feature distinct poses and accessories, including a figure with a lyre and one carrying a red sack. While maker’s marks are not clearly legible on the undersides of the feet in the provided images, these examples are consistent with designs produced by Schleich and Bully. One figure bears a white adhesive label on its reverse reading 364.
Condition report:
The collection shows significant signs of play wear and age across all figures (photos 1 and 2). There is widespread paint loss and scuffing, particularly noticeable on the white hats and trousers of the majority of the figurines. Ingrained surface dirt is present throughout the lot. The King Smurf figure displays heavy wear and rubbing to the gold-toned paint on the crown and robe (photo 2). Several figurines appear to be missing original accessories; the Smurf holding a yellow frame appears to have a central element missing, and the Smurf in the red cape is lacking a handheld item. One Smurf has a non-original adhesive label attached to its back (photo 1).
