Lot 350:
Sold for: £5
Description
A mid-century modern teak veneered pedestal dressing table, featuring a clean-lined aesthetic typical of British 1960s design. The unit comprises a single large pedestal chest with a large rectangular drawer, fitted with a distinctive recessed wooden block pull handle. The pedestal is mounted on four small black casters for mobility. Accompanying the pedestal is a large landscape-oriented frameless mirror with rounded corners, supported by a wooden H-frame framework designed to be positioned behind a flat surface or the pedestal unit. The drawer interior is constructed from a lighter-coloured secondary wood using simple machine-cut joinery. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the piece. This lot comprises the dressing table and mirror only; the drop-leaf table, chairs, and other background items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The teak veneer exhibits age-related wear, including minor scuffing and small losses to the edges of the pedestal unit (photo 2). The top surface shows some dulling and light surface scratches consistent with use. The frameless mirror appears intact with no visible chips or silvering loss, though the supporting wooden framework shows minor surface marks (photo 5). No other visible faults are present in the photographs provided.
