Description
A collection of vintage photographic equipment and binoculars. The lot includes an Asahi Pentax K1000 35mm SLR camera, finished in a textured black leatherette with a metal chassis. This camera is fitted with a zoom lens featuring zoom markings for 28, 35, 50, 70, and 80, and an aperture range from f/3.5 to f/22. Accompanying the SLR is an original Asahi Pentax K1000 instruction manual, a black plastic lens hood, and various lens caps, including one marked Nikon F mount. Also included is a Kodak Brownie Six-20 Model E box camera, made in England by Kodak Limited, featuring an Art Deco style striped faceplate and a brown canvas carrying case with a leather strap. The lot is completed by a pair of Miranda 8 x 40 binoculars, marked with Coated Optics Wide Angle, housed in a black zippered soft carrying case.
Condition report:
The Pentax K1000 shows significant signs of age and oxidation on the metal top plate, particularly near the rewind crank and shutter speed dial (photo 3). Its grey fabric neck strap is heavily soiled and frayed (photo 1). The Kodak Brownie camera exhibits surface dust, while its brown canvas case shows heavy wear, fading, and significant white staining consistent with damp storage (photo 4). The Miranda binoculars appear in good cosmetic condition with minor surface dust (photo 2). All mechanical functions, shutters, and optical clarity are untested.
