Lot 225:
Sold for: £7
Description
A collection of various household and garden style decorative items. The lot features several woven wicker baskets in assorted shapes and sizes, including examples with split-cane and willow construction, some with loop handles. Included in the group is a three-tier plant stand featuring wooden shelves supported by a black scrollwork metal frame on casters. The stand holds a large blue and tan glazed ceramic planter and a smaller stave-constructed wooden bucket.
Notable decorative pieces within the baskets comprise a printed fabric doorstop in the form of a Jack Russell terrier dog, featuring a white adhesive label reading ‘Thepawsome Door Stopper Dog Multi’ with a barcode and symbols for polyester material. Also present is a wirework bird-shaped frame, a small decorative wheelbarrow planter with a yellow lattice-molded plastic exterior and orange interior bearing a white label marked ‘225 Plymouth’, a carved wooden trough, and a black-painted metal cat silhouette. Two red taper candles and a wire mesh basket with a turned wooden handle are also included.
Condition report:
The group shows general signs of wear and surface dust throughout. The multi-tier stand exhibits minor scuffing to the wooden shelves (photo 2). The black-painted metal cat silhouette shows localized paint loss and surface residue (photo 4). The yellow plastic wheelbarrow planter displays dark surface marks and staining to the interior (photo 7). The wicker baskets appear generally intact with minor fraying to some weavers consistent with use (photos 1 and 3).
