Description

A set of nine offset lithographs featuring circular illustrations of British wildlife in a naturalistic style. The collection includes depictions of various animals in their natural habitats: a roe deer in woodland, a red squirrel in an oak tree, harvest mice amongst poppies, an otter pair by a stream, three rabbits in ferns, a dormouse on autumn leaves, a hedgehog in a garden, a frog near marsh marigolds, and a water shrew amongst water lilies. One print, depicting harvest mice, is marked with a printed letter and date reading F 1990 near the bottom edge of the illustration. Each print is housed behind glass in a uniform wood-effect frame with a neutral-toned square mount. The illustrations are detailed with fine line work and a naturalistic colour palette.

The frames measure approximately 10 inches square. The circular illustrations have a diameter of approximately 5 inches.

Condition report:

The set is in good overall condition. There is visible minor foxing and light toning to the mounts, particularly evident on the water shrew (photo 15) and rabbit (photo 13) examples. The wood-effect frames show some light surface wear and minor scuffing to the edges consistent with handling. The glass and prints appear well-preserved with no visible tears or significant fading.
