Lot 209:
Description
A collection of elephant figurines featuring a diverse range of materials including glazed and unglazed ceramics, resin, and crystal. The group includes several character figurines, notably three anthropomorphic elephants dressed in sporting attire (golfer and rugby players), each set upon a rectangular base embossed with the word Gopten. Other notable pieces include a large gold-painted resin figure, a clear multifaceted crystal or glass elephant, and several red-glazed ceramic elephant-head planters. The assortment features various sizes and decorative finishes, such as a white porcelain elephant with blue floral transfer-ware patterns and gilt highlights, and numerous small slip-cast miniatures in various colours. A brown-glazed ceramic elephant-shaped candle holder is also present. Several items bear small white adhesive labels reading S702C.
Condition report:
Most pieces appear to be in good vintage condition with visible surface dust consistent with shelf display. The large grey resin elephant has a significant scuff or repair to its front left foot (photo 3). The brown ceramic candle holder shows some soot and wax residue from use (photo 1). No other major chips or cracks are immediately visible in the photographs.
