Description
This lot comprises a trio of three nesting side tables in the Mid Century Modern style, dating to circa 1960. The tables are constructed with rectangular tops featuring rounded edges, finished in a rich reddish-brown teak style veneer. Each table is supported by a pair of sculptural C-frame or boomerang shaped side supports, which are joined by a single low stretcher. The supports broaden where they meet the tabletop and taper down towards the feet. The underside of the tabletops shows the grain of the veneer and the construction points for the frames. There are rectangular indentations on the underside of two tables where labels were formerly located, but these are no longer present and the maker is not legible. A small amount of handwritten marking in black is visible on the underside of the centre table.
Condition report:
The tables are in good vintage condition with a consistent finish across the set. Minor scuffs and surface scratches are visible along the edges of the tabletops and the feet (photo 1). The undersides show typical wear for their age, including some discoloration and oxidation around the screw points (photo 3). No structural damage or major losses are evident from the photographs.
