Description

A collection of cut glass and crystal decorative items and tableware featuring a diverse range of forms and patterns. The group includes multiple lead crystal vases, notably four bud vases in two distinct styles: a pair with faceted, tapered stems and flared rims, and a pair of waisted form with diamond-cut bodies. Several larger flower vases are present, including examples with complex criss-cross diamond and fan cutting, and a heavy flared-top vase with deep vertical and diamond motifs. A square-based glass decanter with a heavy geometric pattern and matching stopper is included, alongside several small crystal votives or toothpick holders.

The lot also comprises a variety of drinking and serving vessels, such as star and diamond pattern tumblers, a cut-glass tankard with a loop handle, and a small cream jug. Several etched liqueur glasses feature floral and scrolled borders, and two wine glasses are decorated with white floral transfers and gold-coloured rims. Among the pressed glass items is a prominent white milk glass footed bowl with an octagonal rim and embossed grape and leaf pattern, and a bright yellow molded glass sauce boat with a matching underplate. A clear rectangular glass storage container with a ribbed lid bears two adhesive labels: a white label reading ‘162’ and a yellow label reading ‘T1374 D’.

Condition report:

The collection appears in fair to good condition overall. Visible cloudiness is present in some of the larger cut-glass vases (photo 1), likely due to hard water deposits. The gold-coloured rims on the decorated wine glasses show some signs of rubbing and wear to the gilding (photo 5). A small adhesive label is present on the lid of the rectangular glass dish (photo 1). No major chips or cracks are immediately visible in the provided images, though minor nibbles to the sharp edges of the cut crystal are consistent with items of this nature.
