Description

A collection of decorative glassware comprising of assorted pieces of cut, pressed, and art glass. The group features decanters and bottles, notably a square-based lead crystal decanter with diamond-cut patterns and a facet-cut globular stopper, alongside a ship-style decanter with heavy star and hobnail cutting. A small globular perfume bottle with a spiral-moulded body is included, featuring a tan fabric-covered atomiser bulb and a gold-tone collar; the base is embossed with a circular mark reading “BOTTLE MADE IN FRANCE”.

The collection also contains a commemorative clear pressed glass plate celebrating Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, decorated with a central crown flanked by the dates “1837” and “1887” within a laurel wreath, and stippled lettering around the rim reading “THE QUEEN’S JUBILEE”. Further items include a light green-tinted pitcher with bubble-moulded decoration resembling grapes, bearing an applied metal plaque reading “Muscat” and an embossed base reading “MODELE DEPOSE”. The assortment is completed by a large cut crystal bowl with deep “V” and star cutting, a flared pressed glass vase with a geometric block pattern, a simple spherical rose bowl, and a frosted art glass sculpture of a stylised bird. A small black and silver circular label is present on the bird sculpture, though the text remains illegible.

Condition report:

The glassware is in generally good vintage condition. The commemorative Jubilee plate shows visible surface scratches consistent with age and shelf wear to the underside (photo 4). The \"Muscat\" pitcher\'s metal plaque exhibits significant oxidation and darkening (photo 2). The perfume bottle atomiser bulb may be hardened due to age (photo 1). Minor flea bites or nibbles may be present on the sharp edges of the cut crystal pieces, typical for items of this period. No major cracks or structural damage are visible in the provided images.
