Description
A collection of decorative metalware and wooden homewares across two shelves. The group includes two chrome-plated or silver-toned teapots featuring black handles and chased decoration of Asian style landscapes with pagodas and foliage. One teapot is accompanied by a matching lidded bowl and a metal strainer. The assortment further comprises pewter and white metal items including a tankard with a bird-shaped thumb rest, a small footed fluted mould, a metal cylinder, and three miniature cowbells decorated with floral decals and text reading ‘Gruss aus Innsbruck’ and ‘Gruss aus Tirol’.
The wooden components of the lot include a carved stylised figure, a rectangular box with hinged lid, and a circular woven-style wooden bowl containing a large carved salad serving fork and spoon. A dark wood boat-shaped bowl holds a quantity of assorted metal cutlery, and a smaller cardboard box with floral patterns contains further spoons and forks. A wooden-backed brush with natural bristles and a carved wooden panel are also included.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age and use consistent with a mixed vintage collection. Surface scratches and tarnish are visible across various metal components, particularly the teaware and tankard (photo 1). A small copper-toned disc within a wooden dish shows green verdigris (photo 4). The wooden items exhibit minor wear to the finishes, and the cardboard cutlery box shows scuffing and wear to the edges (photo 2).
