Description
A collection of seven assorted mantel and wall clocks dating from the late 20th century. The group comprises three mantel clocks and four wall clocks in various styles. Notable items include a Metamec mantel clock with a wood-grain effect case and a white dial featuring black Arabic numerals, clearly marked METAMEC QUARTZ. A second Metamec clock features a lighter wood case with a mechanical movement, indicated by a winding hole at the 6 o’clock position and a white dial with silver-tone numerals. The wall clocks include an octagonal example with a dark brown wood-effect plastic frame, marked RHYTHM QUARTZ and JAPAN to the base of the dial. Also included is a circular Acctim wall clock with a wide brushed-metal bezel and minimalist baton markers, alongside a larger silvered-dial clock marked QUARTZ. The assortment is completed by an octagonal mantel clock with a burgundy marbled-effect frame on a gold-tone base, marked elite QUARTZ, and a circular Hanson Arden Forest wood-effect wall clock.
Condition report:
The clocks are in varied used condition across the collection. A Metamec wood-grain effect mantel clock shows significant white surface residue and degradation to the case front (photo 6). The brushed-metal framed clocks exhibit light surface scratching and typical dust accumulation (photo 2 and 4). The burgundy octagonal clock shows minor wear to the gold-tone base. All movements are untested for functionality; the quartz examples will require battery replacements, and the mechanical Metamec clock is offered without a key.
