Description

A collection of cranberry and ruby style decorative glassware, primarily featuring hand-blown pieces in various shades of red and pink. The assortment includes a large footed fruit bowl, several waisted and cylindrical vases, and a selection of drinking vessels. Notable within the group are four wine glasses featuring clear bowls supported by deep red stems and circular feet, alongside a clear glass vase with a cranberry jack-in-the-pulpit style rim. Many of the vases and a small bowl are decorated with wheel-engraved or acid-etched floral and foliate motifs, depicting stylised blossoms and leaf sprays. The lot also contains a small cranberry glass pitcher with an applied clear handle, a brandy balloon style glass with etched decoration, and two small clear and pink pressed glass dishes. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible on the pieces.

Condition report:

The small cranberry glass pitcher shows significant internal clouding and surface calcification, commonly referred to as sick glass (photo 5). The large footed bowl and several waisted vases show no significant chips or cracks to the rims, although minor shelf wear is visible to the bases (photos 1 and 4). The small clear pressed glass bowl and pink dish appear to be in good condition without visible damage (photo 4). General surface dust is present across the collection.
