Description
A Sony LBT-D505 hi-fi component system comprising five stacked units and a pair of speakers. The system includes an integrated stereo amplifier model TA-D505, an FM stereo/FM-AM timer tuner model ST-D505, a compact disc player model CDP-M42, a stereo cassette deck model TC-D505, and an automatic stereo turntable system model PS-LX47P. The units feature a dark grey metallic finish with varied controls and inputs including Phono, CD, and Video. The turntable is fitted with an Audio-Technica cartridge. The rear panels feature several adhesive labels including a white rectangular label on the tuner reading MADE IN JAPAN, a label on the CD player reading MADE IN FRANCE, and a label on the turntable reading MADE IN MALAYSIA. A UK BS 1363 three-pin mains plug is connected to the tuner’s AC outlet. The lot includes two Sony SS-A505E two-way speaker systems with 100W power handling and 6 Ohm impedance. Each speaker has a white adhesive label to the rear reading MADE IN UK. The system is supplied with assorted wiring and system control ribbon cables.
Condition report:
The hi-fi components appear in good cosmetic condition with some surface dust visible across the top surfaces (photo 1). The speaker cabinets show minor wear and scuffing to the edges and corners (photo 2). The wiring is heavily tangled at the rear of the stack, and several speaker wires have loose, stripped ends (photo 2). The turntable dust cover shows light surface scratches consistent with use (photo 6). The internal mechanical and electrical functions of the components and speakers have not been tested.
