Description
A collection of decorative ornaments and vanity items in various materials including ceramic, glass, metal, and wood. The assortment features a vanity set in a black box comprising two hairbrushes, a hand mirror, and a clothes brush, each decorated with floral petit point needlework panels under ornate gilt metal frames. The collection also includes a large pottery ewer with a blue and tan drip glaze, a wooden domino set in a slide-top box, and several glass items including blue boot-shaped vases and a swan-shaped bowl. Notable figurines include a porcelain seated Buddha, a terrier in a green Wellington boot, and various small animal figures in metal, ceramic, and glass. Further items include a silver-toned pig-form money box, a green glass table lighter, and a small desk clock with a face reading Norwegian. Several thimbles with floral patterns and porcelain shoe-shaped ornaments are also present.
Condition report:
The collection shows various signs of wear consistent with age and use. There are visible losses and rubbing to the gilt finish on the metal frames of the vanity set (photo 4). Surface dust and light grime are present across many items in the lot (photo 1). The petit point panels appear intact with no significant fraying visible. The wooden box for the dominoes shows minor surface scratches and wear to the edges (photo 2).
